Institutions like the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration, as well as various Bargaining Councils across different industries, have been mandated to adjudicate labour and labour-related disputes. The CCMA has recently reported that due to the Covid-19 global pandemic, they have received an increased number of new cases which largely include retrenchments as well as misconduct and incapacity dismissals.
